The core focus of the Centre is to support the delivery of Senior Agricultural Science curriculum in Education Queensland Secondary Schools.

The Centre is a valuable resource for Agricultural Science, Certificate II Rural Operations and provides a venue for practical components of other Year 11 and 12 courses such as extended experimental investigations in the Biological Sciences.

In developing interest and skills in preparation for Senior courses, the Centre also links with Science faculty staff and SEU programs to deliver Certificate I courses and 8-10 Agricultural Science as part of school programs.

Primary programs provide young people with high interest, practical transition to High School experience.

A range of other programs are made available to Education Queensland schools and other schools on request on a user-pays basis.

Schools wishing to use the Agriculture Centre must apply for a booking. Round One: Schools who have missed out in the previous year or have not visited before. Round Two: Schools seeking a return visit over two consecutive years. A priority is given to schools which have developed a learning program which relies on the Centre central to the success of the program. Education Queensland requires that state schools have first preference and then spare capacity may be allocated to non-state schools.

On confirmation teacher(s) arrange to visit in person and discuss the planning with the Ag Centre teacher at least two weeks before the program commences. A Usage Agreement must be signed. This agreement details the requirements of the Centre in Health and Safety, resourcing and curriculum cooperation.
